Dorothy Jean Wells, 89 of Greenway, passed from the cares of this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at National Health Care in Kennett, Missouri. She was born on July 14, 1928 in Rector to the late Roy and Hattie (Hardin) Hill. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Christ, and in her spare time enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking for her family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband: Newton Edward Wells SR.; a son: Joe Wells; daughter-in-law: Judy Wells, two sisters: Martine Hill, infant Mary Joyce, and a grandson: Dustin Wells. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Danny Wells and Lola of Paragould, Donald Wells of Greenway, Newton Edward Wells Jr and Linda of Greenway, Susan Wells of Jonesboro, Julia Wyss and Larry of Rector, Marilyn Wellman and Brent of Greenway; grandchildren: Dian, David, Martin, Chloe, Bruce, Robbie, Paula, Nathan, Kiley, Andrea, Max, Matthew, Joshua, Brandon; great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Connor, Adrian, Aaron, Ethan, Jameson; Sara; Hunter, Ethan; Clay, Henley; Mollie, Lynzie; Weston; one brother: Hardin Hill and Genevieve of Greenway; one sister: Elberta Forrest and Howard of McGehee; along with a host of other special relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Piggott Mortuary Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Piggott Mortuary with Minister Art Smith and Minister Dustin Semore officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Children's Home Inc or the Cancer Society.
