Futrell Butler, 86 of Boydsville entered into his eternal home on Sunday January 16, 2022 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. He was born June 2, 1935 in Clay County to Clois and Lavada Dortch Butler. On December 20, 1953 Futrell married Ella McLeskey of Boydsville. Futrell was a preacher for over 50 years in the General Baptist Association and was also an Auctioneer for some time. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. Futrell attended Marmaduke First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father: Clois and Lavada Butler; his loving wife: Ella Butler; two great-grandchildren: Josslynn Rileigh Wheeler, Thomas Butler Smart. Futrell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Peggy and Dennis Wheeler of Rector; two grandchildren: Heath (Amanda) Wheeler of Rector, Leah (Wade) Smart of Pollard; five great-grandchildren: Hannah Smart, Morgan Smart, Reba Smart, Hunter Wheeler, JT Wheeler; along with a host of other relatives and special friends. Visitation will be held on Friday evening January 21, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral Services will be on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the family request facemasks be worn in the building.
