Helen Dorothy Simpson, 92 of Jonesboro passed from this life on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on August 7, 1921 in Michigan to the late Noah and Lula Thomson. She was united in marriage on September 11, 1941 to the late David E. Simpson. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: David E. Simpson; two sisters; and four brothers. She is survived by her son: David Simpson and wife Theresa of Jonesboro; daughter: Janie Rogers and husband Dennis of Ohio; one brother: Tuck Thomson; five sisters; five grandchildren: Cody and Jamie Simpson, Casey and Jade Simpson, Megan and Danny Oracion, Angela and Chris Pilz, Ashley Rogers; seven great- grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 22, 2014 at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector from 11:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Bro. Barry Joiner officiating. Interment will be held at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector under the direction of Irby Funeral Homes.
