Jerry Lee Davenport passed away to his heavenly home on January 18,2022 He was born to Earl and Omega (Higgins) Davenport, in Paragould, AR on July 22, 1952. Jerry graduated from Paragould High School in 1970. He married Gayla (Chadwick) on July 18, 1981. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, AR. He was the manager of Harp’s/ Price Cutter for 35.5 years, but his true calling was when he became a security guard in December 2014. He is well known to be the prankster of the group, but truly had a heart of gold to help others. He is survived by his wife of 40.5 years Gayla (Chadwick) Davenport, son Kristan Davenport, daughters Brittany Chambers, Brooke (Matt) Caldwell, honorary children son Michael (Lindsey) Flowers, daughter Olivia Davis, all from Cabot, AR, grandchildren: Layne Flowers, Silas Chambers, Braylee Chambers, Aubree Caldwell, Adeline Chambers, Ella Flowers, Reese Flowers, and Baby Caldwell coming August. Siblings: Byron (Mitizi) Chadwick, Dana (Doyle) Jones and Steve (Denise) Arnold. Host of nieces and nephews. Plus, the students of Cabot High School he loved to serve and protect. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald and Charles Davenport. Funeral arrangements for Jerry Davenport. Irby-Mitchell funeral home in Rector. Visitation will be Saturday, 5 PM for family and 6 PM for public Funeral will be Sunday at 2 PM at the funeral home. There will also be a memorial service at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot on January 29 at 2 PM.
