Matt Wayne Hale

August 25, 1986 - March 7, 2022

Matthew DeWayne Hale, 35 of Rector was taken from this world on March 7, 2022. It’s always been said that God takes the good ones and leaves the others behind to get their lives right with God. God has gotten a good one. Matt Wayne was loved by so many and loved them all back. He and his family spent many hours together at the lake, and at the home over good meals, talking and laughing and trying to get information from Matt which was always answered with a few words and his beautiful smile. He enjoyed making sorghum at the Ole McGowanSorghum Mill. He had such an impact on so many lives. Matt loved cheering his team on: The Green Bay Packers. He served his Country in the United States Air Force for 6 years and then recently joined the Tennessee Air National Guard. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents: Windell and Wanda Hale, Ed and Marcella Horton, Lonnie Joiner and Bert and Odessa McGowan and his uncles: Mike Jones, Malcolm Collier Dennis Williams and David Hale. Matt has left behind his parents: Zelda and Jerry Horton of Rector, Wayne and Jackie Hale of Bono, brothers and sisters: Casie Hale & Tyson Davis of Paragould, Michael and Darlene Horton of Rector, Jodi Horton of Paragould, Jeremy and Shannon Black of Bono, Eddie and Shalla Wilbanks of Jonesboro, Joel and Jen Wilbanks of Odenton, Maryland, his much loved nieces and nephews: Trey Horton, Lilly Jade Vaughn, Lincoln Davis, Reagan Davis, Quinn Black, Beck Black, Kael Wilbanks, Lindley Wilbanks, Annelise Wilbanks, Marleigh Gipson, Myles Gipson, uncles and aunts: Mickey & Sue Wallace of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, Rhonda Jones of Paragould, Ronnie & Stephanie Joiner of Paragould, Randy and Gail Joiner of Beech Grove, Teresia Collier of Florida, Sheila and Tony Davidson of Jackson, Tennessee Steve & Tracy Horton of Rector, Kim Williams of Rector, James and Janie McGowan of Little Rock, Jannia and Jerry Howard of Jonesboro, Jenner McGowan and Ronnie Suttles of Bono, Clinton and Katie McGowan of Bono, Great Aunts and Uncles: Ron and Bonnie Williamson of Cherokee, North Carolina, Peggy and Tommy Ostman of Omaha, Nebraska along with a host of other family members and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Rector. The service will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 1:00 at the church also. Brother Laramie LeQuie, Brother Shawn Brandon and Brother James Strait will be officiating the services. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
