Patrick Theon Niederkorn

February 16, 1957 - December 1, 2021

LTC(R) Patrick Theon Niederkorn, age 64 of Rector, passed away at UAMS in Little Rock on December 1, 2021. Patrick was one of nine children born to Robert and Tulita (Helmer) Niederkorn. Patrick joined the Army in 1981. He completed tours in South Carolina and Germany. He transitioned to the Army National Guard in 1983 where he completed Officer Candidate School. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2010. Military awards include: Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Award (2nd Award), and numerous other military awards and commendations. In his retirement, he enjoyed raising cows, watching Westerns, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Ronald, George, and Andrew Niederkorn, and one sister: Faye Harrison. He is survived by his loving wife: Connie (Shedd) Niederkorn, his children: Jacob Niederkorn, Tyler Niederkorn, Jordan Niederkorn (Jodee), Kyle Kempf, and Brandon Kempf, six grandchildren, one brother: Frank Niederkorn (Barbara), three sisters: Roberta Kinney, Carol Rodriguez (Pete), and Dorothy Maduzia (Cliff), and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Rector First Baptist Church. The service will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Shawn Brandon officiating. Burial will take place Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at The Allen Family Cemetery in Batesville, Arkansas with full military honors. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 1611 Harrison Street, Batesville, Arkansas 72501 and leave in procession at 12:30 p.m. for the committal service.
